I love to read the articles on gaming in The Georgia Tech Journal and Games Project link here on my blog. I found two articles in particular that I wanted to share here. The Minarett Attacks article is a thoughtful look at what happens when racial bias connects with a shoot-em-up game. Games, as all communication media, of course reflect the opinions of their authors. Just as we carefully judge the sources of information available to us, we must also stop to ask ourselves the same questions about the games we play - what is the purpose of this game? Who made it? What is their hidden agenda? As this Georgia Tech article so clearly shows, just because they are fun, games are not immune from inappropriate and sometimes hateful content. Minarett-attack
