Even though the snow meant no school, I was motivated and had some time to do "self-learning". I read through the graphics section of "Flash CS3 for Dummies" and tried every one of the methods they suggested. Hearts were the theme, inspired by the Holiday of the month. This is new to me. I've never spent time with Paint or the other graphic programs before. It was fun. I guess I need another week to make it through the rest of the book. I have highlighted the key words and interesting suggestions. The yellow highlighting helps me to review quickly. The supporting graphics in the book mirror the Flash screen which makes the directions easy to follow.
I also spent some time looking at other schools' blogs and finished games. There is a lot of talent and creativity out there!
It is fun to having a day to learn. It is never enough but we do feel a step closer to feeling like we may know something. The more I learn the more I realize what I don't know.
