World shaking innovation - The Beatles

When I look at the youth and enthusiasm in the early photos of the Beatles, I see my own students preparing themselves to take on the world. I wonder how many of them will gel their efforts in collaboration to make major changes in the world. What synergism must have surrounded these young musicians!

It occurred to me that the skills learned in Globaloria mimic the key elements needed for creative genius: thinking outside the box, playing to one's strengths, rich exchange of ideas, trial and error, asking for help, commitment to process and to product, high expectations, courage to take a risk.

I've always believed that probably COURAGE to step into the unknown is one of the most important traits for success. I wish this for all my students.

  1. Liz,

I love your connection regarding the "Courage" of the Beatles and the courage it takes for our students to step into something unknown like Globaloria. Who do you think was the most courageous Beatle? How can we EN-courage our kids at East to be more confident in taking that leap? I'd love to see some pics, etc. in your blog! Keep up the great work - you really push me to do better!

  2. Liz,
I agree with Jim re: your perspective AND the request for imagery. Please add some hyperlinks, images and video. It's good practice! If you need help, let me know :)
